More Than Just Playing the Right Notes
Blues guitar is about more than knowing a few scales or memorising a collection of licks. It's about rhythm, phrasing, expression and learning how to make every note count.
Whether you're starting with the 12-bar blues or already improvising with the pentatonic scale, my lessons focus on helping you understand and play the music—not simply repeat exercises.
With approximately 20 years of guitar teaching experience, I offer personalised blues guitar lessons that develop your technique, musical awareness and confidence.
What You'll Learn
Blues Rhythm & Groove
Explore the 12-bar blues, shuffle rhythms, turnarounds and chord variations. Develop the timing and feel to play convincingly with other musicians.
Lead Guitar & Expression
Develop bending, vibrato, articulation and phrasing. Learn how to turn simple musical ideas into expressive blues solos.
Blues Improvisation
Move beyond running up and down scales. Learn to create phrases, respond to chord changes, combine major and minor sounds, and develop your own musical ideas.
Musicality & Listening
Learn to recognise blues vocabulary, understand how great players construct their phrases, and apply those ideas to your own playing.
Your Personalised Learning Path
New to Blues Guitar?
Start with the foundations: basic blues rhythms, simple lead phrases, the 12-bar form and essential techniques. You don't need to know music theory or have prior blues experience.
Already Playing Guitar?
Work on phrasing, timing, chord-tone awareness, improvisation and developing solos that sound intentional rather than mechanical. Learn to express musical ideas instead of relying on memorised patterns.
Your lessons are personalised to your experience, interests and goals, rather than restricted to a fixed syllabus.
